Rules of Behavior (ROB)
The following form is used to request an account on the Virtual Distributed Laboratory (VDL).
You must meet the following requirements to obtain a VDL account:
U.S. citizen who is at least 18 years of age.
U.S. government employee, contractor, or academic person working on a project with a U.S. government sponsor.
Note: You CANNOT sponsor your own account.
Two Factor Authentication (2FA) is required.
2FA options: CAC, Yubikey or ECA cert.
Note: Have your 2FA method of choice before requesting account.
Your VDL account acts like your library card and will give you access to any of the VDL 'community' areas.
Each individual MUST apply for their own account.
Accounts created for more than one individual (group accounts) are explicitly forbidden.
There is an annual account recertification process.
Do not reuse passwords across classification domains.
No PII information is permitted on VDL.
